Our core commitment: Your health data is yours. Glucose Compass stores all glucose readings, meals, insulin logs, and symptoms locally on your device only. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond making the app work for you.

1. Overview

Glucose Compass ("the app") is a personal health logging tool developed by Alex Bonacci ("we," "us," "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

Glucose Compass is designed for people with Type 1 Diabetes who want to track glucose readings, meals, insulin doses, and symptoms. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

3. Health Data — Special Protections

Glucose, insulin, meal, and symptom data are stored exclusively on your iPhone using iOS secure local storage. This data:

When you use the AI analysis feature, a snapshot of your recent glucose and meal data is sent to your configured AI provider (Google Gemini or your own API key) for that query only. AI providers do not retain health data beyond the scope of the individual request, per their published terms.

Free-tier users see non-personalized ads served by Google AdMob. These ads:

5. Emergency Contacts and Notifications

Emergency contact names and phone numbers you enter are stored locally on your device only. They are used exclusively to send alert notifications through iOS. This information is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Emergency alert features are permanently free. They are not affected by subscription status, ad preferences, or any other commercial element of the app.

6. Camera Access

Glucose Compass requests camera access to enable you to photograph your glucose meter or food labels when logging entries. Photos are used only for the logging session and are stored locally on your device. We do not upload photos to any server.

AI features are optional and require you to configure an AI provider. The app supports:

Because your health data is stored only on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling Glucose Compass removes all locally stored glucose readings, logs, emergency contacts, and settings.

To request deletion of any data held by RevenueCat (purchase records) or Expo (crash logs), contact us at the address below and we will facilitate the request with those services.

10. Children's Privacy

Glucose Compass is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not include social features, user-generated content visible to others, or any mechanism for sharing data between users. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will assist with deletion.
